Banners - Approval of Temporary Advertising Signs/Banners

Council supports the use of temporary banners/signs in designated areas by clubs, associations or charitable bodies based in the Council area which announce a local event of a religious, educational, cultural, political, social or recreational character. Approval is required and is subject to conditions.

The following are the most frequently asked questions (with answers) in respect to this subject:

Q1: Where can I place a banner in the Council area?
Answer:

1. Bridgewater Oval fence
2. Stirling roundabout (corner Mt Barker and Avenue Roads, Stirling)
3. RSL Hall fence, Uraidla
4. Norton Summit intersection
5. Corner Greenhill and Yanagin Road, Greenhill

Q2: Can I have approval to place a banner at the Stirling Roundabout fence?
Answer: The Banner Schedule within Council's computer system is used to keep a record of banner bookings for this venue. This is a popular location and there is only space for 4 banners at the Stirling Roundabout fence at any one time.

Q3: How long can the banner be displayed?
Answer: Up to 3 weeks prior to the event and it must be taken down within 24 hours following conclusion of the event.

Q4: How big can the banner be?
Answer: 1 metre high and 2 metres wide

Q5: Are there any restrictions on the type of material I use?
Answer: It must be constructed of a water proof material with the advertisement written in water proof materials and with reinforced eyelets to ensure that the banner can be securely fixed.
