Hosting Community Events

The Adelaide Hills region hosts a variety of exciting events that make living, working and visiting the region a pleasure. Come along and be part of the sensational calendar of events and enjoy the breath taking scenery that makes Hills living the envy of the state.

Some events in our region such as Australia Day, Tour Down Under Start in Stirling, Stirling Community Carnival and Outdoor Movie nights are managed by Council however most are organised by community groups and professional organisations such as Toyota Rally, Bay to Birdwood and Oakbank Races. This page will link you to information about the events including road closure information, schedules and any other information that can assist you in enjoying the day.

Council assistance with Events
If you run an event please contact us in writing at least 3 months in advance regarding the following;
  • Date
  • Time
  • Venue
  • Contact details
  • Copy of public liability insurance
  • Any road closures
  • Traffic management plan - any changed traffic conditions e.g. community event signage, parking restrictions
  • Rubbish bins
  • Expected crowd numbers
  • Support requested from Council
  • Any other relevant information
No requests for event support will be accepted over the phone, only written correspondence with at least three months notice will be considered.

Please note; If a traffic management plan is required it is the event organisers responsibility to submit this to Council with your proposal, commercial organisations exist to assist with this if you require assistance.
