Home and Community Care

Adelaide Hills Council supports eligible older residents and some younger people with a physical disability to maintain their independence in their home and community. Assistance may be provided by staff, contractors or volunteers. Services are funded by Council, Home and Community Care (HACC) program, and contributions from residents.

Access to Services

Residents can make an appointment for the HACC co-ordinator to visit and discuss their needs. If there is a high demand for the service it will be provided first to residents with the greatest need. Sometimes there may be a waiting list for services. A contribution is requested for most services and will be discussed with the resident.

Services provided, after discussion with the co-ordinator, could include:
  • Short-term domestic assistance
  • Home Maintenance / Modification
  • Home Security / Safety
  • Home Help
  • Shopping Transport
  • Transport Information
  • Community Information
  • Social Support
Contact the HACC program co-ordinator through Council on 8408 0400 during normal hours.

Please note: Due to funding restrictions some consumers may be referred to other more appropriate services within the Hills Region.
