The 'Business
Incubator' program
The program
developed by the Adelaide Hills Business and Tourism Centre Inc.
has become a model for business and government interaction across
Australia. Business incubation involves a unique mix of advice,
services and support to help small businesses develop and grow. It
takes place in infrastructural developments that help businesses to
become established and profitable."
Business incubators are committed to three core principles -
Services to
business may include:
developing
business ideas, counselling, business and strategic planning
financial and legal advice, marketing and sales management,
mentoring, networking and synergies with other client businesses,
secretarial services, reception and telephone answering office
and/or workshop accommodation conference and meeting rooms
photocopier, fax and postage service bookkeeping and word
processing.
Workshops and seminars are offered by business groups and by private consultants and cover issues ranging from taxation, finance, import/export, employment and legal information. Adelaide Hills Regional Development Board, the Adelaide Hills Business and Tourism Centre Inc. and Council often host these workshops.
The wine
industry
has benefited from various
initiatives from both the local business groups and South

The tourism
industry
is continually being developed
and will benefit from the increased profile of the Adelaide Hills
and its recognition as a unique tourist region. An Adelaide Hills
Tourism and Marketing Committee has been formalised to promote the
area.
