ETSA and DTEI Timing Updates

 Frequently Asked Questions

Council in conjunction with ETSA and the Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI) will be undertaking the main street upgrade works over the coming months. The project is funded by the State Government's Power Line Undergrounding Committee (PLEC)

The works are a multi staged project involving:

1) ETSA - The installation of underground electrical cables within the roadway and footpath

These works will commence in April 2011 and will take approximately one to two months (weather dependent). Some delays to traffic can be anticipated. The ETSA works will run from Post Office Rd to Bridge St, and be predominantly on the western side of the road, and the installation of a switching cubicle in Wattle St. The detail of the protuberance and switching cubicle can be seen in the plans linked below.

2) DTEI - The removal of the existing stobie poles and installation of new light poles

Once the ETSA work is done, DTEI will remove the old stobie poles and erect new light poles (of the same design as previous stages) - this part of the project is generally done in one evening on a sunday night, however full power is maintained to all homes and shops.

3) COUNCIL - The installation of new Council footpath and street trees

The footpath works will be undertaken once ETSA and DTEI have completed ther works, and will be in the same style as previous Lobethal stages. There may be some minor disruption to footpath access however the contractor will ensure full access to all shops and driveways during this time.
