FURTHER INFORMATION
Citizenship Ceremonies are conducted throughout the year by Council.
To become an Australian Citizen, residents must first apply with the Department of Immigration, Level 4, 55 Currie Street, Adelaide, telephone 131 880, www.citizenship.gov.au
After the paperwork has been lodged with the Department, an interview and security checks are conducted. Once all the Department of Immigration requirements are satisfied (usually within about six weeks), the Department sends a letter to candidates inviting them to attend a ceremony at Council.
The Department of Immigration can also assist with urgent ceremonies and queries on citizenship. Please contact the Department direct on 131 880.
