Who is entitled to the service?
The free e-waste drop off service is available to all residents. (Not limited to Adelaide Hills residents).
Where do I drop off my e-waste?
All e-waste must be dropped off at the Heathfield Resource Recovery Centre on Scott Creek Road Heathfield 5153. Opening times are Monday to Sunday 7.30am to 4pm. Closed on catastrophic fire days, Christmas day, Boxing day, New Years day and Good Friday.
For more information call the Heathfield Resource Recovery Centre on (08) 8339 4323.
What will happen once I drop off my e-waste?
Once you have dropped off your e-waste, Council will send the items to DHL Supply Chain for recycling as part of the National Recycling Scheme for televisions and computers. DVD and VCR players will be recycled via the steel recycling service.
Many e-waste items contain parts such as small amounts of gold, copper and recyclable glass and plastic. These items are carefully pulled apart in order to recover the valuables. Hazardous components such as lead, mercury and arsenic are also safely captured and disposed of.
The recyclable parts of your e-waste are sent off and made into new products.
