Each unit is responsible for conducting its own recruitment and selection in accordance with the Council's Recruitment and Selection policy and procedures.
Vacant positions may be advertised through a number of ways, including print media (eg. papers) and Internet postings.
The selection process is conducted in accordance with the merit principle and equal employment opportunity principles. All applications will be considered against the selection criteria within the Position Description.
Council will aim to provide short-listed applicants with interview details at least three days before the interview date.
Following interviews, reference checking will take place and relevant applicants will be asked to attend a pre-employment medical and undertake any other relevant tests (such as psychometric, aptitude or skill tests) before a final decision is made.
We aim to notify the successful applicant of the final outcome within 5 - 8 working days of the interview, depending on when relevant test results are received.
