The Adelaide Hills Council Library Service is joining the Comissioner's Digital Challenge again in 2020.
This program is a great way to help children get involved in coding and design thinking, a vital skill in our world today and in the future. The program has two parts this year: Digital Thinking & Design Thinking
|For the Digital Thinking aspect of the program your child needs to complete 4 challenge activities that involve coding. The challenge provides lots of great resources and links on their website.|
|For younger children we offer device-free activities that encourage the development of digital thinking. Activities include a robot dance routine and a follow the arrows hunt for the robot. Each of these activities begin to develop the concepts of following instructions and sequencing.||
For the Design Thinking aspect of the program the task is to design a toy or gadget for someone their age who is moving to Mars. Our library service will be working with this program in our Weekly Wednesday STEAM sessions as part of our Term 2 program. The software used to complete this challenge is also available on our borrowable laptops.
