Libraries & Community Centres open: what you need to know

We continue to adapt our services as COVID-19 restrictions and recommendations are updated by the state government. If unsure, please call us on 8408 0400 to confirm what spaces and services are available.

Adelaide Hills Council Libraries
Our three library branches in Stirling, Woodside and Gumeracha are open to the public, albeit with some changes to usual operations. The mobile library remains out of service for the time being.

Changes include limits to the number of people allowed inside at one time and new sanitation and social distancing guides. Click here to get a full overview of what to expect.

Adelaide Hills Community Centres
The Torrens Valley and Summit Community Centres are open to guests under social distancing and santising guidelines. The Positive Ageing Centre remains closed at this time.

Regular programs and events, Red/Green sheds and Gumeracha Op Shop
Some restrictions are still in place around our usual programs and events, including Positive Ageing community buses, however many programs (including the Red and Green sheds) are returning under COVID-safe plans. Click here to see the Community Centre Term 3 Program. The Gumeracha Op Shop is open to customers.

Playgrounds and recreation facilities
Access to Council playgrounds and outdoor recreation facilities (BMX tracks, tennis courts etc) has been reinstated and the community is welcome to use them. When using these spaces, however, please adhere to social distancing recommendations of 1.5m between each other, and keep groups to a maximum of 10 people. We also encourage you to keep up your hygiene practices to keep everyone healthy.

Many early childhood programs remain available online and community members needing assistance with connectivity or distraction are encouraged to contact us on 8408 0400 for guidance.

For a range of FAQs and all of our updates in one place, please visit our COVID-19 community information page.

Our library staff look forward to seeing you
Council acknowledges that we conduct our business on the traditional lands and waters of the Peramangk and Kaurna people. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging as the Custodians of this ancient and beautiful land.
