Vale Jean Evans

Council today mourns the passing of Mrs Jean Evans, an Elected Member of the former District Council of Stirling from 1981 to 1993.

We remember Mrs Evans as a Councillor who was heavily involved in community activities, and acknowledge the outstanding contribution she made to our community throughout a lifetime of service.

In addition to her roles within the Council, we recognise Mrs Evans' other community and professional activities across community groups, school committees, agricultural pursuits and more. In 2017 she was honoured with the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to the beef cattle industry and to the community.

We extend our condolences to Jean's family and friends at this sad time.
