Disability Support and Programs

There are various local and state based organisations and groups that help people living with disability and their family or carers to access support services and programs.

NDIS Local Area Coordinator

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was established under the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (NDIS Act).

The NDIS gives funding directly to eligible people with a disability to access the supports and services they need to live and enjoy their life.

For most people, a Local Area Coordination (LAC) partner will be their main point of contact for the NDIS. LAC partners help people with disability to connect with supports, services and local activities. They also help participants to understand the NDIS, meet with participants to create their plan and explain how to make the most of it.

Mission Australia Mount Barker is the NDIS Local Area Coordinator partner for the Adelaide Hills area. Contact them for help accessing the NDIS, creating a NDIS support plan and finding support in your local community:

MyTime Group

Women's and Children's Health Network coordinates the MyTime Group in Aldgate. The group is for parents and carers of children with disability, developmental delay or chronic illness.

It's a place for parents and carers to unwind, share information and be updated on services that are available in their local community.
