16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
As part of Council’s recent commitment to help prevent violence against women and their children, Adelaide Hills Council is taking part in a global campaign, the United Nations 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.
Our 16 Days of Activism will commence this 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and run until 10 December (Human Rights Day).
This year’s theme is ‘UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls’ and uses the colour orange – a symbol of hope and a future free from violence.
Illumination at Coventry Library
We will be lighting up our Coventry Library (Stirling) in orange during the evening of 25th November (the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women).
Visit the display of ‘orange ladies’ in the Coventry Library, Stirling
Zonta Club of Adelaide Hills, who we partner with for 16 Days, are providing us with cutouts of ‘orange ladies’ that their members have made, representing women who have experienced violence. The orange ladies, along with educational boards, will be on display in Coventry Library during the 16 Days period (25th November – 10th December).
