Boundary change proposal for McBeath Drive in Skye
Public consultation is now open on a proposal by Adelaide Hills Council and the City of Burnside to make a small adjustment to the council boundary along McBeath Drive, between Skye and Horsnell Gully.
Why a change is needed
Boral Resources (SA) Ltd owns land on both sides of McBeath Drive, which forms the boundary between the two councils. As part of a recently approved development, three new residential allotments have been created along the road.
Two of the new allotments are situated between the boundaries of both councils. To make the road and property boundaries more logical and easier to manage, the councils are proposing a small boundary realignment. This change will ensure that each new property sits entirely within one council area, simplifying service delivery and maintenance for future property owners.
What this means
The change will:
- Correct an administrative issue created by the new development.
- Clarify which council is responsible for services and infrastructure for the three new allotments.
- Have no disadvantage for residents or the councils involved.
Currently, all three allotments are owned by Boral, who supports the proposed change.
Community consultation
As part of the process, the SA Local Government Boundaries Commission has approved an Inquiry and Engagement Plan for this proposal.
Community consultation is open from 29 October to 26 November 2025. During this period, the community is invited to provide feedback on the proposal.
