Colour and community: New mural brightens Upper Sturt Tennis Club
The once-plain walls at the Upper Sturt Tennis Club have been transformed into a vibrant celebration of local nature, thanks to a creative collaboration between the club, a local artist, and the Adelaide Hills Council.
The mural began as a joint project between the Upper Sturt Tennis Club and Adam Poole-Mottishaw of Cold Krush Store / Gallery. Adam, known for his dynamic and community-inspired street art, brought his signature style to the club’s wall, blending bold colours and intricate detail to reflect the beauty of the surrounding natural environment.
Inspired by the positive response and the artwork’s potential to further enhance the space, the Adelaide Hills Council stepped in to support the mural’s extension across the remaining exterior walls. This funding allowed the original artwork to evolve into a fully wrapped installation, showcasing native plants and echoing the unique landscape of the Adelaide Hills.
The finished mural is more than just a striking visual feature, it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and connection to place. It provides an inspiring backdrop for players and visitors alike, and adds a splash of colour and culture to the heart of Upper Sturt.
