Council services and opening hours over the holiday period
Adelaide Hills Council wishes you a safe and happy festive season.
Our Service Centres and Libraries will be closed for a Christmas and New Year break from Thursday 25 December and reopen on Friday 2 January. During this period, some essential services will operate with reduced staff to respond to any emergencies.
Libraries
- Stirling Coventry Library - Closed from 6pm Wednesday 24 December and re-open on Friday 2 January
- Woodside Library - Closed from 5pm Wednesday 24 December and re-open on Friday 2 January
- Gumeracha Library - Closed from Wednesday 24 at 2pm and re-open on Saturday January 3
- All library chutes will be open during this period
Council Customer Service
- Closed from 5pm Wednesday 24th December.
- Reopen Friday 2 January 2026
Emergencies
- For emergencies call (08) 8408 0400, 24 hours a day
- An emergency in this instance is a situation that may cause imminent and immediate danger to people or property
- Non-urgent requests will be responded to from 2 January onwards
Heathfield Resource Recovery Centre
- Closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day
- Open every other day.
- Monday to Friday – 7.30am to 4pm / Saturday and Sunday – 9am to 4pm
Bins
There will be no collections on December 25th or January 1st.
Properties with Thursday and Friday collections will have their bins collected 1 day later than usual in both of these weeks. (Thursday bin collections will occur on the Friday and Friday collections will occur on the Saturday).
Please look out for the hard-working East Waste Drivers continuing with our bin collections throughout this festive season and give them an appreciative wave if the opportunity arises!
Fabrik Arts + Heritage
- Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day
- Open Wednesday to Sunday 11am - 4pm
Community Centres
The Community Centres at Norton Summit and Gumeracha will close on Thursday 18th December 2025 at 3 pm, and return on Monday 12th January 2026 at 9am.
