Stage 4 of the Amy Gillett Bikeway off to a flying start

The stage 4 extension of the Amy Gillett Bikeway from Mt Torrens to Birdwood is already proving to be a major success, with impressive participation numbers recorded since it officially opened in November.

Early data from the new section highlights just how enthusiastically the community has embraced the bikeway extension. The Mount Torrens counter has recorded 1,081 pedestrians and an outstanding 10,065 cyclists to date, a clear sign that riders are making the most of the extended trail.

Meanwhile, the Birdwood counter has captured 3,897 pedestrians and 8,338 cyclists, demonstrating strong usage from both walkers and bike riders.

The strong participation numbers reinforce the Amy Gillett Bikeway’s reputation as one of the state’s most popular and highly valued recreational trails.
