We are seeking two highly motivated and suitably skilled individuals to join our Civil Services team with a focus on delivering field-based civil works duties in a variety of work environments across the Council district. With the opportunity to use a broad range of modern plant and equipment across constantly changing locations, no two days are the same. As a Leading Hand within the field-based leadership classification criteria, you will role model Council’s values and provide leadership to team members in the Civil Maintenance team.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Practical experience in civil maintenance or construction works.
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction or willingness to undertake.
  • A current Medium Rigid Driver’s Licence (essential).
  • White Card accreditation (essential).
  • Work Zone Traffic Management ticket (essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a team environment and to identify and report on workplace health and safety incidents and hazards.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to liaise confidently and courteously with internal and external stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role

A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the Council’s requirements will be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
