Secondment Opportunity – Governance & Risk Coordinator

  • General Officer Level 6 or 7 (depending on qualifications and experience): $94,827356 - $110,926.50 (FTE) plus superannuation
  • Ten (10) Week Secondment Role commencing 28 June 2023 – 30 August 2023
  • 4 – 5 days per week

This position works under limited direction and provides services, support, project management and expert advice on governance and risk matters, including but not limited to general governance activities, Council Meeting and Member support, risk management, corporate insurance portfolio management, local government elections and public integrity management.

You will have the opportunity to work in Stirling in the Governance and Performance Department which is part of the Office of the Chief Executive.

You will report to Steven Watson, Acting Executive Manager Governance & Performance.

As you will be supporting Council and Committee meetings, the role does require some work outside normal working hours.


About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Local Government Act 1999 and good governance principles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and executive support to a range of stakeholders and committees.
  • High level oral and written communication skills including a demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning and organising projects and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and cultivate collaborative working relationships through trust and effective communication.
  • Strong working knowledge and skills using the Microsoft Office suite of products.
