Senior ICT Officer (System and Cloud Administrator)

The Adelaide Hills Council is seeking to appoint a Senior ICT Officer - Systems and Cloud Administrator ICT in a full-time role for a 36-month assignment, based in Stirling

The position provides high-level support for Council’s technology systems and importantly has the skills and experience to lead Councils move to the Cloud, working closely with consultants, the ICT team, and internal staff.

Working within a complex environment, you will provide specialist advice in areas of Cloud administration and automation, server management, network infrastructure and cyber security.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, documenting, managing, and maintaining virtual server environments and migrations to the Cloud
  • Operationalising Councils Cyber Security Framework
  • Ensuring endpoint detection and response systems are operational and managed (Microsoft E5 based suite)
  • Supporting and securely maintaining a complex ICT network infrastructure
  • General technology support and maintenance of ICT applications
  • Undertaking infrastructure asset renewal programs
  • Maintaining the Microsoft suite of desktop products and O365 E5 suite
  • Design and delivery of ICT/desktop applications training to the end users
  • Providing end user support
  • Assisting with Help Desk when required

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you must have relevant systems and Cloud administration experience and be an excellent communicator, accustomed to managing internal relationships, with the ability to providing ongoing support, maintenance, and lifecycle of the ICT environment.

Required skills

  • System implementation, maintenance, and management of on-prem servers
  • Microsoft security and administration certifications and experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Communication Technology or equivalent experience
  • High level skills and knowledge within virtualised server environments
  • Previous experience in working with networks in a complex environment
  • Ability to build and maintain the Microsoft suite of server and desktop products
  • Ability to support Microsoft Office 365 applications such as Exchange, Teams
  • High level written and oral communication skills
