Join Lani's stitching workshop, where together we will create little amulet pouches.

Let Lani and your intuition guide you while you hand stitch your pouch or little bag that will keep something special and personally empowering in.

What to expect during this workshop

  • Using recycled hand-dyed woollen blanket, we will embellish the pouch exterior with beads, shisha mirrors, sea glass and shells.

  • Lani will show us 2-3 stitches to use on these pouches, including how to attach embellishments and how to line the pouch.

  • Each of us will receive our own kit (colors may vary) of woollen blanket with pouch liner fabric, beads, threads to decorate and needles to use.

Consider your special object

Please consider ahead of time what special object (or amulet) you will keep in your newly created pouch. You may even want to bring it along to the workshop.

Pouch dimensions are approximately 10 x 10 centimetres when complete.

By the end of the workshop you will leave with your own intuitively and imaginatively stitched amulet pouch. Even if you don't complete it, you will have all the ingredients to take home to complete it.

It's as easy and joyful as that.

What's an amulet and an amulet pouch.

Amulets are highly personal objects. Traditionally they can have spiritual, devotional or mystical meanings or even offer protection and empowerment to the person who wears it.
Often amulets are contained as keepsakes in small and attractive wearable pouches or bags.
