Join Dr Jake Robinson for an eye-opening talk on his new book, The Nature of Pandemics.Jake explores how pandemics are ecologicalcrises that require ecologicalsolutions. You’ll learn about the pathogens most likely to spill over next, how outbreaks unfold constantly in wildlife, and – crucially – the rays of hope and the practical solutions emerging fromholisticthinking and cutting-edge science.

Dr Jake Robinson is an award-winning microbial ecologist who explores the linkages between biodiversity and human health. He is also passionate about developing ways to restore damaged and degraded ecosystems. He has published over 65 peer-reviewed papers and three popular-science books, including Invisible Friends: How Microbes Shape Our Lives and the World Around Us, Treewilding: Our Past, Present, and Future Relationship with Forests, and The Nature of Pandemics: Why Protecting Biodiversity is Key to Human Survival. Please note:
Extreme and Catastrophic Fire Danger Ratings

When a Catastrophic Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, all Adelaide Hills Council Library branches will be closed, and all events and programs will be cancelled without notice. Any monies paid will either be reimbursed or the event will be rescheduled for a later date.

When an Extreme 2 (75+) Fire Danger Rating is declared for the Mt Lofty Ranges, the Gumeracha Library will be closed and all events and programs will be cancelled without notice. Events at the Woodside Library and the Coventry Library, Stirling will be reviewed and may also be cancelled without notice. Any monies paid will either be reimbursed or the event will be rescheduled for a later date.
