Adelaide Hills Council Newsletter December 2025
A festive season message from Acting Mayor Nathan Daniell

The Christmas and festive season is an important time to pause and reflect. I encourage you to take the time to connect with loved ones and if you are able, to extend a hand to those who may be doing it tough.

As the year draws to a close, I have also taken a moment to reflect, and I am grateful to be part of an organisation whose core purpose is to support our community to thrive, and to work alongside people who care deeply about the Adelaide Hills. Together, we have achieved some significant outcomes, such as:

  • Restoring Cox Creek through a $2 million joint project with the Federal Government
  • Extending the Amy Gillett Bikeway from Mount Torrens to Birdwood
  • Opening new community spaces, including the Woodside Splash Park
  • Hosting three stages of the Santos Tour Down Under across Stirling, Gumeracha and Uraidla
  • Launching our new community engagement platform
  • Delivering five community forums on sustainability, boundary reform, community connection, engagement, and access and inclusion
  • Rolling out an upgraded customer service online system
  • Progressing the next stage of our FOGO project

With strong foundations now in place, we are well positioned to continue delivering on our Strategic Plan, Your Space, Your Place.

In closing, I extend my sincere thanks to our Councillors, staff and volunteers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. To all residents and business owners, I wish you a safe, happy and peaceful Christmas and festive season, and a wonderful 2026.
