As we welcome the warmer weather, November is a month full of events, markets and festivals in our Council area.
It's also time to prepare for the bushfire season, which begins early this year on November 15. The safety of our community is our top priority, so we encourage everyone to review their Bushfire Safety Plans and stay informed with the latest emergency alerts from the CFS and Alert SA.

You're invited to our Community Groups Forum November 28
If you're a member of a local club, community group or association, our special Community Group Forum is the chance for you to network with Council staff and Elected Members and find out about how Council can work for you. The evening will focus on collaboration and feedback, including information about our Community Grants Program. Meet other community groups and network with Elected Members. Enjoy a free sausage sizzle, and the bar will be open for purchases.
Due to hotter, drier conditions, the Fire Danger Season for the Mt Lofty Ranges will start two weeks early, running from 15 November 2024 to April 30 2025. Stay informed with up-to-date fire ratings and advice from the CFS and Adelaide Hills Council.

Council’s Horticulture team is busy with seasonal maintenance. This month their focus has been on turf maintenance - mowing sporting fields, community reserves, and township areas as well as landscaping around RSL memorial sites for Remembrance Day.

In October, as part of the Fire Mitigation Strategy, the Horticulture team began the annual Roads and Reserves Maintenance Program (RRAMP) to manage vegetation for fire safety, road upkeep, asset protection, and fire track access.

On Sunday, September 8, 2024, the Adelaide Hills Council, Bridgewater Friends of Cox Creek, and Activating Bridgewater teamed up to host a community planting event at Cox Creek in Bridgewater Recreation Reserve for National Tree Day.
Road closures for Shannons Adelaide Rally November 8-11
There will be road closures throughout the Hills. In particular, Mt Barker Rd from the Aldgate Pump Hotel to Snows Rd Stirling will be closed on Saturday November 9 from 12.15pm to 7.30pm.
