The Stirling Quercus Corner Mural is a striking double-sided artwork that brings colour and character to the heart of Stirling’s main street.
Created by Adelaide Hills artist Lucinda Penn, the mural celebrates both the charm of the beloved Hokey Pokey ice-cream and lolly shop and the beauty of the surrounding Stirling landscape.
One side of the mural depicts the bustling shopfront, while the other reflects the region’s iconic autumn tones, native flora, and wildlife. Together, the two walls create a vibrant story of community, nature, and local business.
- Location: Quercus Corner, Main Street, Stirling
- Artist: Lucinda Penn of LCND
- Completed: 2019 (first wall) and 2020 (second wall)
- Commissioned by: Stirling Business Association
The first wall was completed in 2019, when the site was still a driveway to a car park. Following the Stirling Business Association’s transformation of the space into an outdoor shared area named Quercus Corner, Penn returned in 2020 to complete the second, larger wall.
Dimensions:
- First wall: 16 x 3.8m
- Second wall: 30 x 4.5m
The project required many days of detailed work. Today, it stands as one of the most prominent murals in the Adelaide Hills, delighting visitors and locals alike while showcasing Stirling’s unique identity.
