BikeExchange Stage 2: Birdwood to Lobethal

Women's race start 9:00am and finish 11:45am
Men's race start 1:30pm and finish 4:30pm

Riders will burst out from the leafy trees of the National Motor Museum into the town of Birdwood and south, looping through Lobethal on the way to a sprint down the centre of Oakbank. The race will make its way into Hahndorf and Echunga, where the King and Queen of the Mountain will be crowned, before winding into Mylor and turning back for a return journey through the centre of the Hills. Men's and women's sprints will repeat in Oakbank, with the women's race then headed straight for Lobethal, and the men deviating for the iconic King of the Mountain on Fox Creek Road, Cudlee Creek. Both pelotons will fly to a finish on Western Branch Road, Lobethal and celebrate their winners at the gorgeous Golding Wines.

Start event from 8:00am at National Motor Museum, Birdwood
(includes free entry to the Museum from 10:00am - 5:00pm)

Finish event from 12:00pm at Golding Wines on Western Branch Road, Lobethal.

As part of the Festival’s COVID Management plan, these start and finish events will have limited-capacities. Entrance to both locations will be free and non-ticketed, we recommend arriving at the venue early in order to avoid missing out.

Road closures: SA Police will be managing both races using 'rolling' road closures, riding ahead of the race to temporarily halt traffic as the riders pass. Western Branch Road, Lobethal will be closed between Lobethal Road and Golf Links Road from 5:00am - 7:30pm (note updated start time for closure).
