On the tail end of winter, wattle blossoms paint the hills a dazzling gold and the days are finally getting longer. It's a great time of the year to rug up and get out to a SALA event or explore our walking trails, markets, restaurants, cafes and wineries. The Adelaide Hills are buzzing. Embrace the change of season and stay connected with all the wonderful activities and events in our region.

If you've been busy winter pruning your garden, our Heathfield resource recovery centre has scheduled a number of free green waste disposal days, including a mid-weeker.

Free Green Organics Drop Off Days

Need to dispose of green organics? To assist with fire prevention in the district, Council offers free green organic drop-off days throughout the year. Residents can drop green organics including grass clippings, pruning’s, leaves, and small branches.

Recently, the Piccadilly Community Hall received a Recovery Ready Hall grant from the Adelaide Hills Council, aimed at preparing community-managed halls to serve as Recovery Support Hubs following emergencies.

It's the time of the year for local non-profit community groups and organisations to get planning for our 2024/25 round of Community Grants. Grant applications open on September 1.
