Environment News
Planting for the future
Council teamed up with Woodside Primary School to help restore a small creek beside Woodside Oval. Students from Years 5–6 planted 200 native trees, shrubs, and sedges to stabilise the creek’s banks and support its recovery.

The most important thing in your green bin is food waste!! Get yourself a free kitchen caddy.
Mouldy bread? Slimy veggies? Pop it in your green organics bin! It’s taken to a composting facility, where it spends 8–10 weeks transforming into nutrient-rich compost and mulch. Use a kitchen caddy system available from Council, to make it easy!

Weekly FOGO is expanding!
From November 2025, Council will deliver weekly FOGO to 2270 more households across the Balhannah, Charleston, Lobethal, Oakbank, Woodside townships in the Tuesday collection area. Affected residents will be contacted by mail.
