Manager Libraries and Customer Service
Adelaide Hills Council is currently seeking an innovative and people centered leader to shape the future of our Libraries and Customer Service functions.
You will oversee the strategic and operational management of library and customer service functions across multiple sites, ensuring that Libraries provide opportunities for learning and connection through a range of innovative, community-focused and accessible services.
You’ll lead the development and implementation of Libraries and Customer Service strategies and lead the improvement of the customer experience across all customer service channels, ensuring a consistent, high-quality, and customer-centred approach.
This leadership role supports a high-performing department of approximately 36 employees, with 4-5 direct reports, and reports to the Director Community and Development.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop staff in a complex and dynamic environment
- Proven ability to foster a high-performance culture and lead teams through change.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex service delivery models, including multiple sites, programs, and dispersed teams, aligned to organisational objectives.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor strategies and new initiatives.
- Understanding of the role of public libraries in communities and the ability to promote access to library services.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and engagement skills, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels across Council in order to achieve outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to improve the customer experience across multiple service channels and manage performance metrics and reporting to support continuous improvement and accountability.
This is a prescribed position. As part of Adelaide Hills Council’s Safe Environments Policy, a current Working with Children Check, and undertaking Child Safe Environment Training every three years, are requirements of the position.
A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the Council’s requirements will also be required before the successful applicant can commence.
