Join celebrated author and journalist Dr Lainie Anderson for this year’s Hurren Memorial Presentation, as she shines a light on one of Australia’s most trailblazing women in law enforcement, Kate Cocks.

Kate Cocks was South Australia’s (and the Commonwealth’s) first female police officer, and the founder of Australia’s Women's Police Branch. Her groundbreaking work and leadership paved the way for women in policing and helped transform social justice for women and children.

Inspired by her research for The Death of Dora Black, Lainie will share the fascinating story behind this pioneering policewoman and the impact she had on generations to come.
