Textales - is a participatory story telling event where you get to share the stories behind your treasured textiles.

Bring along your vintage textile or related item (such as a doll, a ‘Huswife’ sewing kit, a beaded item or hand stitched bear) and tell us about it.

Sit back and relax with a glass of bubbly while listening to other speakers’ stories about the pieces that connect them to a special place or time, their family, other cultures and traditions or heritage.

We’ll start you off with a textile story of our own, then hand the rest of the afternoon over to you.

Textales is presented as part of the SA History Festival (1-31 May 2026)
