Meet the Author: Sofie Laguna

Matilda Bookshop is delighted to present Meet the Author: Sofie Laguna for the launch of her moving new novel, The Underworld.

Join us for a special evening as Sofie Laguna, Miles Franklin Award-winning author of The Eye of the Sheep and The Choke, discusses her wondrous new novel with writer and Matilda Bookshop manager Molly Murn.

Martha Mullins is a misfit, shy, academic, and often misunderstood. She finds comfort in Roman mythology and the imagined world of the underworld, a place of escape and possibility. But when things go wrong, Martha must find her way in a world where she cannot always be herself.

Sofie Laguna is one of Australia’s most celebrated authors, having won the Miles Franklin Award, Colin Roderick Award, and Indie Award, and been shortlisted for the Stella Prize and Prime Minister’s Literary Award. Her many books for children and adults have been published internationally and widely acclaimed.
