Have your say: community consultation on two proposed long-term leases

We’re inviting community feedback on two important lease proposals that will help secure the long-term use of public land for vital community services and activities. Consultation

1. Proposed Lease – 5 Colonial Drive, Norton Summit
Council is seeking feedback on a proposal to enter into a long-term lease with the SA Country Fire Service (CFS) for the land currently occupied by the Norton Summit CFS Station.

This lease would formalise the CFS’s ongoing use of the site and support their continued presence and emergency response capability in the region. Do you support this proposal? Is there anything you’d like us to consider?

2. Proposed 99-Year Lease – Station Road Reserve, Woodside
We’re also proposing to enter into a 99-year lease with the Commissioner of Highways for the reserve at Station Road, Woodside. This area includes the Woody Trails bike track and the community garden – two well-used and much-loved community spaces.

The lease would help secure long-term access and use of this space for current and future generations. We’d like to hear from you – are you supportive of Council entering into this lease? Do you have any feedback or ideas for the future of the reserve?

How to Have Your Say
We want to hear your thoughts on both proposals. Consultation opens on Wednesday 6 August 2025.

In accordance with Councils Public Consultation Policy, and as required by the Local Government Act 1999, Council is inviting submissions on the proposed Lease from any interested persons in the community.
