Celebrating ten years of Bush Kindy at Lobethal Community Kindergarten
On Friday 30 May 2025, the Lobethal Community Kindergarten hosted a celebration to mark ten years of their much-loved Bush Kindy program.
Held at the beautiful Lobethal Bushland Park, the event brought together current Kindy children, their families, educators, past students, and a wide range of community members.
The milestone event was attended by the Federal Member for Mayo, Rebecca Sharkie, alongside representatives from the Lobethal Lions and Rotary Clubs, Council staff, and Cr Lucy Huxter. The gathering reflected the strong community spirit that has supported the Bush Kindy program since its beginning.
Kindergarten Director and educators spoke proudly of the program’s journey over the past decade, recognising the contributions of many people who have helped it grow. Special thanks were given to Council staff and Cr Lucy Huxter for their role in developing a new commemorative sign, which now stands proudly in the shelter at Lobethal Bushland Park to honour the program’s legacy.
The Bush Kindy program encourages hands-on, nature-based learning, helping children build confidence, curiosity, and a deep connection with the natural world.
It was a wonderful celebration of a terrific program that we’re proud to support. Congratulations to everyone involved over the last ten years!
