Fabrik launches Tarnanthi program

Adelaide Hills Council is proud to announce the opening of the Tarnanthi program at Fabrik Arts + Heritage in Lobethal at 2pm on Sunday 30 November 2025.

The launch event marks commencement of two exhibitions featuring in the Regional Tarnanthi program as part of the tenth anniversary celebrations of Tarnanthi.

  • Woven within Stars reflects stories that connect Country and culture and is presented in partnership with Country Arts SA, Tarnanthi and the Art Gallery of South Australia. It includes new and existing works by nine First Nations artists from regional South Australia.
  • Yirr is presented in partnership with Tarnanthi and the Art Gallery of South Australia. Janette Murrungun is an experienced weaver who works with pandanus and ghost-net material that wash up near her community of Numbulwar, on the Gulf of Carpentaria in southeastern Arnhem Land.

The event will also launch a two-year partnership with the National Gallery of Australia, with two works on loan, as part of the Sharing the National Collection program.

Formal proceedings commence at 2pm and include a Welcome to Country by Uncle Mickey Kumatpi Marrutya O’Brien followed by addresses from the Acting Mayor, Country Arts SA, Art Gallery of SA and the National Gallery. Members of the public and media are welcome.
