Funds approved for structural works at the Old Onkaparinga Woollen Mill site

At a Special Council Meeting on 4 August 2025, we resolved to allocate over half a million dollars to carry out urgent ‘keep safe’ works on the culvert (or drain) beneath the buildings at the Old Onkaparinga Woollen Mill at 1 Lobethal Road, Lobethal.

The culvert, which is a Council owned asset, requires immediate attention to maintain its structural integrity and ensure the safety of the site. We have been working closely with key stakeholders to support the continued operations of businesses and activities within the historic mill precinct.

This significant investment may increase our current deficit, with the full financial implications to be detailed in the October budget review.
