Gumeracha Library refurbishment set to begin
The Gumeracha Library and Service Centre will be closed from Wednesday 17 May for the planned refurbishment.
The upgrade is aimed at making the library more welcoming and user-friendly and includes refreshed reading and sitting areas, an updated customer service desk, new shelving for library items and a revamped children’s space.
The foyer space will be updated at the same time, including refreshed furniture and a new service desk for community centre volunteers.
Due to the scale of the upgrade, the library will be closed for approximately six weeks and is scheduled to reopen at the beginning of July 2023.
From Monday 22 May, customers will be able to access library services from our old mobile library truck, which will be located next to the Gumeracha and District History Centre on the eastern side of the building. This service will be available 9am to 12pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays until the upgrade is completed.
Customers can continue to reserve items from across the LibrariesSA network and collect them from the old Mobile Library truck.
There will also be continued access to the external returns chute at the front of the library for those wanting to return items outside the interim service hours above.
Access to other council services (such as payments) will be available via phone to 8408 0400, email to mail@ahc.sa.gov.au, online at ahc.sa.gov.au or in-person at our Woodside or Stirling locations.
The Mobile Library is also an option for Gumeracha borrowers with stops in Birdwood, Lobethal, Houghton, Kersbrook and Cherryville.
