Happy campers at Johnson Memorial Park RV dump point

Grey nomads, campers and adventurers, rejoice! Adelaide Hills Council recently launched its first recreational vehicle dump point (RV dump) at Johnson Memorial Park in Balhannah.

Following an expression of interest process to determine interest from communities and/or individuals to make a RV dump point available within their town, the Johnson Memorial Park Committee successfully lodged a development application to allow free camping and a point at the Balhannah Oval.

Council contributed to the cost of setting up the site through grant funding, including funds from the Campervan & Motorhome Club of Australia to purchase the dump site.

The new facility is set up for the caravan and camping community that own self-contained motorhomes/recreational vehicles (RVs) and do not require or seek the services of fully serviced caravan parks.

This low-cost site option includes access to potable water and a place to drain self-contained wastewater systems (RV dump point).

The new camping area has already been well occupied by travellers in our district since its soft opening over the Easter holidays.

Council would like to extend a big thank you to the Johnson Memorial Park Committee for their part in the project with the landscaping, fencing as well as many other tasks they helped with along the way!

Happy camping!
