Planned road resurfacing on Upper Sturt Road closure and detours

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) will be carrying out essential road resurfacing works on Upper Sturt Road starting Sunday night, 11 May 2025, with completion expected by Thursday night, 15 May 2025.

To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, Upper Sturt Road will be closed between Fairway Drive and Footts Hill Road during this period. The closure is necessary due to the narrow width of the road, which does not allow safe passage of vehicles during the resurfacing process.

Detour arrangements:

• Cars will be redirected via Sheoak Road

• Trucks will be diverted to the South Eastern Freeway

Residents living in the area, including those on Sheoak Road, can expect an increase in traffic during the works. DIT will be delivering letters to affected households in advance to ensure residents are informed.
