Innovate Reconciliation Plan launched
Council recently celebrated the launch of Council’s Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, a significant milestone in our Reconciliation journey.
Developed with the support and guidance of the Adelaide Hills Reconciliation Working Group and an internal Council working group, the Plan reflects our commitment to Reconciliation now and into the future.
Reconciliation is one of the guiding principles of Council’s Strategic Plan, Your Place Your Space, and this Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan sets out clear, measurable, and meaningful actions that are part of the everything we do and all levels of Council business.
Council recognise Peramangk and Kaurna people as the traditional custodians of our region and we continue our commitment to working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Non Aboriginal community to create stronger relationships, respect, and a shared knowledge towards reconciliation.
At the launch, guests were welcomed by Senior Kaurna Man, Mickey Kumatpi O'Brien with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country and a contemporary Aboriginal dance performance by Imbala performance group.
